Paglaum Farm Harvests Its First Batch of Crops
Paglaum Farm marked its first harvest of tomatoes, okra, and chilis, connecting agricultural learning with food production and community support.

On January 23, 2025, Cebu Technological University - Barili Campus and Subang - Cebu Technological University Agriculture and Food Systems Department marked the first harvest of the Paglaum Farm Project.
The harvest included tomatoes, okra, and chilis cultivated by first-year BS Agribusiness and BS Agriculture students under the guidance of Subang Adviser Dr. Pet Roey L. Pascual. The project provides students with hands-on agricultural experience while supporting food production within the university and surrounding community.
Subang volunteer interns Kesiah C. Montesuso, Mary Rose D. Razo, and Leanne Danielle T. Trasporte joined Subang - CTU officers Peter John C. Enorio, Krista Marie Frances C. Bicada, Rodney Joseph B. Sundo, and Augustin P. Tapinit during the harvest.
The produce was distributed among students, volunteers, and members of the local community in Barili. The first harvest demonstrated how campus-based food production can connect agricultural education with practical support for food accessibility.
