FSG Officers Lead Breadfruit Propagation Through Marcotting at CTU-Barili

The Federation of Student Governments - Cebu Technological University, Inc. and Subang - CTU Chapter conducted a breadfruit propagation activity through marcotting at Cebu Technological University - Barili Campus on January 31, 2026.

The activity was led by Dennis B. Bendulo, Subang Human Resources Officer, with support from Peter John C. Enorio, Shaina Faith D. Visorro, Miles Wilven Ayuban, and Volunteer Intern Rod Santiago Lebumfacil Jr.

Participants were introduced to marcotting as a vegetative propagation technique that can produce new plants from a parent tree while retaining desirable characteristics. The hands-on activity allowed participants to apply the technique directly to breadfruit propagation.

The activity connected agricultural knowledge with practical food production and environmental stewardship while providing student leaders with an opportunity to learn a propagation method that can support future planting and production.

The joint initiative also strengthened collaboration between FSG-CTU and Subang - CTU in promoting sustainable agriculture and action-based learning.
