Primo Villegas Elementary School Holds First Agro Fair

Primo Villegas Elementary School in Cagay, Barili, Cebu held its First Agro Fair 2025 on June 30, 2025, as part of the school's celebration of Nutrition Month and its theme, 'Food and Nutrition Security maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!'

The activity brought together parents, educators, school leaders, and community partners in a showcase of agricultural products and sustainable food practices. The fair was spearheaded by School Principal Mercedita B. Marinay in collaboration with School Parents and Teachers Association President Ma. Jumilie B. Carreon, the School Governance Council, and SPTA officials.

Peter John C. Enorio, Subang Philippines President, and Shaina Faith D. Visorro, Subang - CTU Chapter President, served as members of the judging panel. They were joined by volunteers Dennis B. Bendulo and Crestine Lendio and Volunteer Intern Miles Wilven Ayuban.

The Agro Fair featured fruits, vegetables, herbs, root crops, and homemade products prepared by parents of enrolled learners. The activity highlighted the connection between agriculture, education, nutrition, and community participation.

During the activity, Enorio discussed the relationship between adequate nutrition, food security, and the holistic development of learners, including their health, cognitive development, and academic performance.

The fair provided a community-based platform for promoting agricultural awareness and nutritious food choices while celebrating the agricultural roots and local participation of the school community.
