Subang and Young Hoteliers Club Celebrate Filipino Food Month Through Barili Food Expo

Filipino culinary heritage took center stage at Cebu Technological University - Barili Campus on April 30, 2024, as students gathered for the Barili Food Expo: "Kalutong Pilipino, Lakas ng Kabataang Makabago."

Held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the event was organized by the Subang Community Affairs Department and the Young Hoteliers Club as part of Filipino Food Month celebrations. More than 100 students participated in the expo.

The event featured a range of Filipino food products and creations, including bibingka from Barangay Mantalongon, goat milk ice cream, and tilapia fillet. The displays provided students with an opportunity to explore local ingredients and culinary traditions.

The activity was supported by Dhodz Pizza, Tolit's D'lights, C&G Printing Services, JRA Livestock Buyer and Supplier, and Chip-In. Dr. Josephine Taleon also provided assistance with booth setup.

Through the Food Expo, organizers created a space where students could appreciate Filipino food traditions while highlighting the role of young people in keeping local culinary heritage visible and relevant.
