Subang Joins Siquijor Film Camp 2023

Subang Communications Department representatives participated in the Siquijor Film Camp 2023 organized by the Department of Trade and Industry in Siquijor from July 3 to 7, 2023.

The film camp brought together aspiring filmmakers for a series of learning opportunities led by practitioners with experience across Philippine film and television. Among the featured industry personalities were Director Avel Sunpongco, known for his work on Darna; Director Earl Bontuyan, associated with Sa Ilalim ng Tulay; cinematographer Neil Daza, a recipient of the Gawad Urian Award for Cinematography; and Fausto Barnedo Jr., known for his involvement with Survivor Philippines 2008.

Subang President Peter John C. Enorio and Siquijor and Negros Oriental Provincial Director Dyn Michael M. Lozana represented the organization during the activity.

Participation in the film camp provided Subang's communications representatives with an opportunity to learn from established practitioners and further develop their understanding of filmmaking, storytelling, and visual communication.

The experience also contributed to Subang's continuing use of media and communications as tools for documenting community work, amplifying youth voices, and telling stories of local action.
