Subang Bamboo Propagation Project Advances Environmental Restoration at CTU-Barili

Subang's Environmental Affairs Department continued its bamboo propagation work at Cebu Technological University - Barili Campus on March 2, 2024, building on the organization's growing environmental restoration efforts within the university.

The initiative was led by SEAD Vice-President Rodney Joseph B. Sundo and SEAD Deputy Director Augustin P. Tapinit, with the participation of Subang President Peter John C. Enorio, Community Affairs Deputy Director Jerecho Jose P. Sumalpong, Community Affairs Associate Director Roland Joshua C. Carbero, SEAD Junior Environmental Advocate Reinz Laurence S. Tolentino, and SED Junior A+ Advocate Cedrick B. Parojinog.

The bamboo propagation project supported the development of planting materials for continued environmental work at the campus. Bamboo was identified as a practical component of the organization's broader efforts in campus greening, restoration, and environmental stewardship.

The activity also provided volunteers with direct experience in environmental work, strengthening their participation in a project that connects propagation, planting, and long-term care of vegetation.

The March activity formed part of Subang's continuing environmental work at CTU-Barili, following the organization's first riparian project launched in December 2023 and subsequent efforts to document and protect the campus ecosystem.
