Subang - Siquijor Deepens Environmental Learning Through Expert Sessions

Subang - Siquijor marked Environmental Awareness Month on November 30, 2024, by bringing environmental practitioners into a learning session for its members at Lazi National Agricultural School.

The program opened with a session by Nancy Mae B. Omandam on environmental leadership. Participants worked through a SWOT analysis to examine organizational strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in relation to environmental initiatives.

Sue Ong, Shark Coordinator of the Wildlife Conservation Society Philippines, followed with a discussion on marine conservation. The session covered the ecological role of sharks, marine species life cycles, and threats including overfishing, habitat destruction, and climate change.

The discussions provided Subang - Siquijor members with additional perspectives that could inform the chapter's environmental planning and future conservation activities.

The activity was supported by Lazi National Agricultural School, led by Principal I Ana Rose M. Cabasag, reinforcing the role of partnerships and knowledge-sharing in environmental education.
