Subang Leads Coastal Cleanup and Mangrove Growing Activity in Hilasgasan

Subang's Environmental Affairs Department led a coastal cleanup and mangrove growing activity in Barangay Hilasgasan, Barili, Cebu, on April 20, 2024, bringing together government offices, community leaders, and volunteers around a shared environmental effort.

The activity was led by SEAD President Peter John C. Enorio in coordination with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office of Barili. Participating offices included the Municipal Agriculturist Office, Bantay Dagat-Barili, the Barili Municipal Fire Station, and the Barili Municipal Police Station, with support from PNP force multipliers from the COMPACT Team.

Barangay Hilasgasan Chairperson Evelyn Rubia also supported the activity, strengthening community participation in the effort to care for the area's coastal environment.

Volunteers and personnel from the participating organizations worked together on the day's cleanup and mangrove-growing activities. Subang Co-adviser Dr. Danny E. Carabio was also present to provide guidance and support.

The activity combined direct environmental action with community engagement, reinforcing the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining coastal ecosystems and supporting long-term environmental sustainability in Barili.
