Bamboo Propagation and Site Maintenance Strengthen Environmental Efforts at CTU-Barili

Environmental activities at Cebu Technological University - Barili Campus continued on February 15, 2025, with a combined session focused on bamboo propagation and the maintenance of areas developed through the Adopt-A-Hectare initiative.

CWTS trainees participated in the propagation of black bamboo, while volunteers and trainees also carried out maintenance activities within the Adopt-A-Hectare site, including work around established kamagong areas.

The activities were led by Peter John C. Enorio, Shaina Faith D. Visorro, and Cedrick B. Parojinog, with support from CWTS staff Dave M. Baran and Jan Emmanuel Lausa. CTU-Barili SSG Senator Xyrah P. Cuizon also supported the activity.

The combined work allowed participants to contribute both to the expansion of planting materials and to the continued care of previously established areas. Regular site maintenance remains an important part of ensuring that environmental projects are sustained beyond their initial planting activities.
